Frequently Asked Questions

Booking a dog photoshoot is exciting, but it’s completely normal to have a few questions first. Below you’ll find answers to the questions I’m asked most often.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please get in touch and I’ll be happy to help.

Can My Dog Stay on the Lead During the Photoshoot?
Absolutely. If you’d prefer your dog to remain on a lead, that’s completely fine.

Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. I use professional editing techniques to carefully remove leads from final images, so your dog appears natural and free in the photographs without any risk during the session.

Does My Dog Need to Be Well-Trained?
Not at all. Your dog doesn’t need perfect recall or training to enjoy a photoshoot.

I work with dogs of all personalities, energy levels and attention spans.

Whether your dog loves to explore or prefers to stay close, I adapt the session to suit them. Just bring a suitable lead so we can keep everything relaxed and safe.

My Dog Is Nervous Around New People or Places – Will That Be a Problem?
Not at all – nervous and shy dogs are very welcome.

I have years of experience photographing dogs of all temperaments, including rescues and anxious dogs.

Sessions are always calm, unhurried and led entirely by your dog’s comfort. If they need time or space to settle, that’s absolutely fine.

Can I Bring More Than One Dog to the Photoshoot?
Yes – absolutely.

I regularly photograph sessions with multiple dogs and have worked with groups of up to five.

If you’re bringing more than one dog, I recommend bringing an extra pair of hands (a friend or family member) to help manage leads and keep everyone safe and relaxed.

How Long Do Dog Photoshoot Sessions Last?
Most dog photography sessions last between 60 and 90 minutes, although many are finished sooner.

Every dog is different – some settle instantly, while others need a little time to relax.

There’s never any rush, and we always work at your dog’s pace to ensure the experience is enjoyable and stress-free.

Your dog’s happiness and comfort are always more important than the clock.

Where Will the Dog Photoshoot Take Place?
I offer outdoor dog photoshoots at two beautiful dog-friendly locations in Lincolnshire, both ideal for creating natural and relaxed dog portraits.

▪︎ Chambers Farm Woods (near Wragby, LN8 5JR)
▪︎ Ostler’s Plantation (near Woodhall Spa, LN10 6YY)

Both locations provide a relaxed environment where your dog can enjoy the experience while I capture their personality and character.

What Happens if it Rains?
Dog photoshoots are always more enjoyable in good weather, so if heavy rain is forecast, we’ll simply rearrange your session for another date.

There’s no extra charge to reschedule due to poor weather, and I’ll always keep an eye on the forecast and contact you if a change is needed.

When Will I See My Finished Photographs?
After your photoshoot, your images will be professionally edited and prepared for your personal viewing appointment via Zoom.

This usually takes around 2–3 weeks, although this can vary during busy periods.

During your viewing appointment, you’ll see your photographs for the first time and have the opportunity to choose your favourite images, artwork and digital collections.

How Much Do People Typically Spend?
Every family is different, which is why all artwork and digital collections are chosen after you’ve seen your finished photographs.

Portrait sessions are £95, with prints starting from £65 and digital collections starting from £195.

Most clients choose a collection that best suits their home and how they’d like to enjoy their images.
